Now I really want to work for Google!

Google the new 600 pound gorilla on the block is throwing its weight towards sustainability without batting an eyelash.

First they start with a one two chest pound including installing over 9,000 solar panels to power 1/3 of their campus (~1000k homes or 1.6 MW) and then they announced they were building a parking garage with facilities for plug in electric vehicles!

Without missing a beat they rounded out their initiatives with a philanthropy project called RechargeIT which has been demonstrating the efficiency and versatility of plug-in electric hybrids. The video below does a nice sum up of the technology and ideas behind it. Basically use America's fleet of plug in hybrids to act as a backup battery for the grid.
